Privacy Policy
Short, because there is little to describe. This site runs no analytics and sets no cookies. It loads one thing from someone else, and only once you start filling in the contact form.
This site is operated by Lonstern LLC (“LONSTERN”, “we”). Questions about anything on this page go to leon@lonstern.com.
What the site collects on its own
Nothing. There is no analytics script, no advertising pixel, no embedded video or map, no web font loaded from another company, and no cookie is set by this site at any point. The one outside script is the spam check on the contact form, described below, and it loads only if you use the form.
The pages are served by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare receives the request itself in order to answer it: your IP address, the page asked for, the browser string and the time. That is their processing as our hosting provider, not ours, and we do not build profiles from it.
What stays in your own browser
Two things are kept in your browser’s local storage. Neither is a cookie, neither is sent anywhere, and neither reaches us:
- What you picked on Digital Inventory. The trade and crew size you choose there stay on your device so the rest of the site can talk about your business instead of our example.
- Which pages you have opened. A list of up to forty paths, used only to stop repeating an argument you have already read.
Clearing site data in your browser removes both, and the site keeps working without them.
The check on the contact form
When you start filling in the contact form, and not before, the page loads Cloudflare Turnstile, a check that tells people from automated spam. Most people never see it; sometimes it shows a single box to tick. Cloudflare receives what it needs to run that check, such as your IP address and details of your browser, under its own privacy policy. We receive only whether the check passed. A message that does not pass is still delivered to us, marked, so nothing you send is thrown away.
What the contact form sends
The form on this site sends exactly what you type into it: your name, your email address, your website if you fill that field, your message, and which page you sent it from. There is one hidden field that is invisible to people and only ever filled in by automated spam.
We use it to answer you and to do the work if you hire us. It is not sold, not rented, not shared with anyone for their own purposes, and not added to any advertising audience. Ask us to delete it and it is deleted.
How long anything is kept
Correspondence is kept while we are talking and while any work runs, and after that for as long as tax and accounting records have to exist. Nothing else is retained, because nothing else is collected.
Your requests
Write to leon@lonstern.com to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. There is no form for this and no account to log into: it is one email to one address, answered by a person.
Changes
If this changes, this page changes, and the date below moves with it. There is no notification list to join.
